SWITCH Mobility, a subsidiary of Ashok Leyland and part of the Hinduja Group, has made waves in the electric vehicle (EV) industry with the global launch of its game-changing EiV12 and E1 low-floor city buses. These innovative vehicles are set to redefine urban transportation in India, Europe, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) regions.

The launch event was graced by the presence of Shri Nitin Gadkari, the Hon’ble Minister of Transport, who unveiled these revolutionary buses.

The EiV12, designed specifically for the Indian market, is India’s first low-floor city bus featuring chassis-mounted batteries and a scalable battery capacity exceeding 400 kWh. This cutting-edge platform, designed and manufactured in India, offers global standards in performance, safety, and reliability. With a seating capacity of up to 39 passengers, the EiV12 leads its segment in terms of passenger comfort, safety, and technology.

The E1, on the other hand, is tailored for the European market. It boasts a lightweight monocoque construction, in-wheel motors, and a flat gangway layout, ensuring optimal efficiency and accessibility. The E1 can accommodate up to 93 passengers, making it ideal for urban transit systems.

Both the EiV12 and E1 share common design philosophies and EV architecture, emphasizing SWITCH Mobility’s commitment to a sustainable future. The company has already secured an impressive 1,800 orders for these buses, highlighting the strong market demand for electric mobility solutions.
