Mahindra XUV.e8 Prepares for Launch with Patented Design Elements
Mahindra is gearing up to launch their first electric SUV, the XUV.e8, and new details about its design have been revealed thanks to recently patented elements. These patents offer a glimpse into what to expect from the upcoming electric vehicle.
Exterior Hints at Modern Electric Style
The XUV.e8’s exterior design borrows inspiration from the concept car showcased earlier. It retains the overall silhouette of the Mahindra XUV700, but with key electric-focused changes. Expect a blanked-off grille, a sign of its electric nature, along with vertically stacked projector headlamps and a sleek LED light bar stretching across the front. The bumpers will be new, and copper-colored accents throughout will add a distinctive touch. Mahindra is also following the trend of aerodynamically designed wheels, hinting at optimized range.
Interior Boasts Three-Screen Layout
The most interesting design element revealed in the patents is the XUV.e8’s interior. Mahindra is stepping up their game with a three-screen layout for the dashboard, similar to what’s seen in high-end luxury cars. One screen will function as a digital instrument cluster for the driver, while another serves as the main touchscreen infotainment system. The purpose of the third screen remains a mystery, but it could offer passenger controls, climate adjustments, or even entertainment options.
A New Steering Wheel Design
The patents also reveal a new two-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel design for the XUV.e8. This sporty design features a red center insert and a black screen that could potentially display Mahindra’s “BE” (Born Electric) branding.
With these patented design elements coming to light, the Mahindra XUV.e8 is shaping up to be a stylish and tech-forward electric SUV. The official launch is expected in early 2025, so stay tuned for more details on this exciting new electric vehicle from Mahindra.
