Tata Motors Buses.

Throughout India, Tata Motors has supplied over 1,500 electric buses, which have accumulated a combined mileage of more than 10 crore kilometers, with an uptime of more than 95%.

Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) purchased 100 electric buses from Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer. On 1 January 2024, the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, launched the buses.

This new generation of zero-emission buses is built on a next-generation architecture, equipped with the latest features, and powered by advanced battery systems, according to the press release.

Assam State Government and ASTC have allowed us to supply a modern fleet of electric buses. According to Rohit Srivastava, Vice President and Business Head – CV Passengers at Tata Motors, making public transportation more efficient and effective is our mission. The buses are built using cutting-edge technology and are rigorously tested under a variety of conditions, making them a safe, comfortable, technologically advanced, and efficient means of transportation.

Over the last several years, Tata Motors has delivered more than 1,500 electric buses across multiple cities in India, which have logged cumulatively over 10 crore kilometers, with a 95% uptime rate. Among other advanced features, it has electronic stability control, electronic brake distribution, air suspension, Intelligent Transport System (ITS), and a panic button.

There will be nine-meter, air-conditioned Tata Ultra electric buses plying the roads of Guwahati that will provide a safe, comfortable, and convenient method of transportation within the city. In addition to being indigenously built on a next-generation architecture, these zero-emission buses are also equipped with the latest technology. A battery system is used to power them. It was Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma who launched the buses.

Our mission is to enhance public transportation efficiency and effectiveness, and we are grateful to the Assam State Government and the ASTC for providing us with the opportunity to supply a modern fleet of electric buses. In addition to being built with cutting-edge technology and rigorously tested under varied conditions, these buses are eco-friendly and will make public transportation safer, more comfortable, technologically advanced, and more efficient. Our Tata Ultra electric buses have been inducted and are operational in Guwahati, according to a release from Rohit Srivastava, Vice President and Business Head, of CV Passengers at Tata Motors.

This highly advanced vehicle features a fully electric drivetrain, which optimizes energy consumption, resulting in a low cost of operation and energy consumption. Several features are available, including a smooth boarding process, comfortable seating, and an easy-to-use control panel. In addition, it ensures zero emissions. Among other advanced features, it features electronic stability control, electronic brake distribution, air suspension, Intelligent Transport System (ITS), and a panic button.
