The camouflaged two-wheeler looks similar to TVS iQube at first glance
The photographer snapped a picture of a mystery scooter spotted testing on Bengaluru’s Bannerghatta Road, which caught the eye of the media. Unfortunately, there is no information about the manufacturer of the scooter, so we are unable to determine who made it.
At first glance, the camouflaged two-wheeler may appear to be quite similar to the popular TVS iQube electric scooter. However, a closer look reveals hidden bodywork that appears to be quite different from what is initially seen. It should be noted that on most TVS two-wheeler test rides, the two-wheelers are not fitted with KA registration plates, and can hardly be seen on the road. Whenever that happens, it is usually located near the company’s Hosur factory, rather than directly inside Bengaluru, which is rarely the case. This would therefore indicate that this is unlikely to be a product manufactured by TVS.
There seems to be quite a bit of height to the handlebars of this scooter, which means that taller riders may experience some knee irritation if they take a U-turn when the scooter is in reverse. It appears that the overall position of the seats is conventional, with a strong emphasis on ensuring that the rider is relaxed and in a comfortable position while riding.
In addition to the telescopic fork and the front disc brake, the scooter also has a telescopic fork. A closer look at the LED headlight mounted on the front apron of the iQube does show some differences compared to the LED unit on the iQube.
This motor scooter is difficult to distinguish from a petrol-powered scooter at first glance, but the fact that it is registered in Karnataka and seen in Bengaluru from a distance strongly suggests that it is an EV, given the number of startups specializing in electric vehicles in India’s tech hub.
There have been other assumptions following the publication of the photographs that suggest that some of the contenders to which this test mule could belong include Ather Energy, Ultraviolette Automotive, and River, all of which are based in Bengaluru.
Because this two-wheeled test mule resembles the production version, we should know in no time.
