EQE 500 4MATIC electric SUV was also introduced in Pune
Mercedes-Benz India announced on Friday that it would now offer charging stations to users of other brands aimed at speeding up the adoption of electric vehicles in the country. There was also the introduction of the EQE 500 4MATIC electric SUV, which starts at Rs 1.39 crore (all India ex-showroom), and a new “Customer Experience Center” at Chakan, in Pune.
A Mercedes-Benz ultra-fast charging network is being democratized in India to support the transition to an electric vehicle (EV). All EV owners in India, regardless of brand, can now benefit from Mercedes-Benz’s opulent brand experience while using the company’s charging network, according to Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-Benz India (MBI).
With 140 chargers located at different locations, the company claims to have the largest charging network within the luxury car market. A total of 40 chargers operate at 180 kilowatts or 60 kilowatts, meaning fast chargers. The fast charging network will be extended to Mercedes customers as well as to all brands, luxury, and mass, so they can charge their cars at a faster rate.” Iyer said.
Electric vehicles will be adopted more quickly in India as a result of the move, he added. Moreover, MBI and Bengaluru-based Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI) have developed an app allowing EV owners to access an additional 150 superchargers. Customers of Mercedes and non-Mercedes alike can download the app for access to a fast charging network across India and it can help in their day-to-day commute or their interest commute, Iyer said.
According to him, the EQE 500 4MATIC SUV will strengthen their BEV portfolio. This is an important addition to their BEV portfolio, with luxury appointments, technology, and connectivity, among others. The EQE 500 4MATIC SUV is backed by a 10-year battery warranty and is serviced once every two years, as per the company said. According to him, the first-of-its-kind Customer Experience Centre in the country will host everything from private consultations and car deliveries to corporate events for top-end customers.
