Auto Expo 2023 features 6 electric 2 and 3-wheelers by Greaves Cotton.

As a result of the collective global response to the climate crisis caused by fossil fuels, the electric mobility sector continues its extraordinary growth.

Greaves Cotton Limited, one of India’s leading diversified engineering companies, may showcase six electric vehicles at the 2023 Auto Expo. They showcased new two-wheeler and three-wheeler products, including the ground-breaking Ampere Primus. The company stated that the specialized Moxy has been working in powertrain manufacturing for decades.

As the new contribution of Greaves Cotton to electric mobility proves it has made a significant contribution to sustainability by saving 35 million liters of fuel from the 1.3 billion plus electric kilometers are driven by its customers.

The new Primus is powered by a new 3kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and claims a range of 120km on a single cruising range. The Ampere Primus came with three driving modes of power, city, and eco, as well as a reverse mode. It also consists of features such as Bluetooth connectivity that enables turn-by-turn navigation via the proprietary Ampere app and notification alerts on the digital dashboard.

NXG and NXU e- scooter concepts of the new Ampere vehicles were unveiled at Auto Expo 2023 which will be launched this year. The company has announced these new models will have a claimed range of 120km on a single charge. Both are based on a new modular platform and feature the same mid-engine as the Primus. NXG is available for individual purchasers and will be a premium product from the Greaves subsidiary compared to the existing portfolio.

In addition to two-wheelers, the electric tricycle segment is another important growth driver for the electric vehicle industry in India. Greaves Cotton exhibited three of his electric vehicles designed for passenger and freight vehicles. The ELP is an affordable and convenient personal transport tricycle for motorists. The ELC is for his 3-wheel freight vehicles aimed at operators looking to reduce their total cost of ownership. The Aero Vision features a futuristic cargo concept. All three products are highly localized with domestic parts.

Greaves Electric Mobility, which aims to become the preferred electrification partner for its OEMs in the two- and three-wheeler segments, has also unveiled its strategic plans to develop electric powertrains for the mainstream Indian market. The company says electric powertrains are a natural progression, benefiting from years of experience and expertise in vehicle operating cycles. In addition, European partners bring expertise in design, development, testing, and vehicle integration, as mentioned in the investor presentation.
