Tarform Luna Cafe Racer electric motorcycle unveiled
A Brooklyn, USA based electric mobility startup Tarform Motorcycles has recently unveiled a new electric motorcycle cafe racer version of Luna named ‘Racer Edition.’ The new model is based on a similar modular platform as the original Luna. The electric motorcycle comes with a price tag of USD 24,000 which is approximately INR 17.50 lakh. Its components are made from recycled aluminium, flax fibres and biodegradable leather.

The Tarform Luna Racer Edition has the same features such as Scrambler Edition. It has an upper-body seat with a retrofuturistic body shape. It has a set of Avon sport ST street tires, street-focused suspension, a sportier headlamp cowl. It comes with a single-piece handlebar and knobby tires. The theme of this electric racer is a blacked-out theme and its other components include the wheels, footpegs and swingarm are in black colour.
Apart from that its key features include a round shape retro-styled full coloured digital instrument cluster that displays the speed, riding modes and battery percentage. It comes with Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, all LED lights, keyless start and blindspot detection with haptic feedback.
It has 3 riding modes, 180 degrees rearview camera and regenerative braking. The electric racer gets a sound generator called Sonic Aura which helps in alerting the pedestrians and other road users to avoid any kind of accidents. While we look for its body frame, the bike is a hand fabricated trellis frame and has Onlins front and rear suspension and disk brakes at both ends.
Tarform Luna Cafe Racer Specifications
Tarform Luna Racer Edition bike is equipped with a 10 kWh battery pack which is connected to a 55 HP motor. It provides a maximum range of about 120 miles approximately 193 km, depending on the riding mode the rider has been selected. The Luna Racer Edition gives a top speed of 120 mph and can accelerate 0-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds. The electric bike can be charged from 0 to 80% in just 50 minutes.
Pricing & bookings
The bike is future-ready as it can be upgraded with new battery systems and software. The bikes are available for the federal income tax credit with 10% of the purchase price. Customers are also benefited from incentives at the state and local level. The max credit is also available of USD 2,500 and both the bikes such as Tarform Racer Edition and Scrambler Edtion are also available on finance options that start at USD 400 per month. The electric motorcycle comes with a price tag of USD 24,000 which is approximately INR 17.50 lakh. The bookings of these electric models will be commenced in the coming month.
