He has chosen the Ather Energy as its base, it follows the Ather’s white/green/black theme. The inspiration has come from the organic forms on a shark’s body. Its modern styling elements go with the inline Ather Energy’s design language. Sreejith has designed without compromising on the relaxed and comfortable riding experience.

The design or the styling highlights of the Ather Cruiser concept includes an extended windshield that doubles as a highlight cover, concealed forks, minimal body panels without exposing internals, mono-shock rear suspension, split seats and phone dock. There is also an instrument console which is a common product in Ather.

As it is just a visualisation some of its units lacks practicality. Ather has already shared plans to enter into the motorcycle segment but we didn’t hear much about it. Sreehari’s Ather electric Crusier concept is a wonderful start. If Ather launches a cruiser motorcycle than it will compete with the TVS Zeppelin cruiser motorcycle which will be launched in 2022.

Ather Energy has successfully completed its two years of operations in India. It was founded in 2013 and the company started its operations in 2018. It launched its first electric scooter Ather 450 and expanded its operations in Chennai. It has recently launched the updated version of Ather 450, Ather 50X.

Ather offered six over-the-air (OTA) updates to the 450 since its launch with the model covering about 11 million kilometres across the fleet. Further, it has also announced about its expansion, it will expand its network expansion in eight new cities with a new vehicle exchange program for a petrol scooter for the owners who want to upgrade their scooters to an electric one. The company is gearing up to open experience centres through dealerships in Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Coimbatore, etc.

The company earlier in January 2020 rolled out the battery subscription model with the launch of Ather 450X under which the consumers pays for the scooter, without the cost of the battery. The battery is paid for under a monthly subscription model.

Speaking about the ongoing lockdown and future plans for the start-up, Tarun Mehta, Co-founder and CEO, Ather Energy said, “The lockdown helped us reevaluate and reassess our long term goals. We are going to open as many avenues as possible to promote electric vehicles. From introducing new ownership models and to continue offering the most varied financing options, we will ensure that owning an E2W (electric 2wheeler) is a hassle-free proposition for any consumer. Exciting times ahead for Ather and the EV industry”
