Tesla to launch new lost-cost battery for
EVs
The world’s leading car maker Tesla is planning to launch a new low-cost and long-life battery in its Model 3 sedan in China in one to two years. It is expected to bring down the battery cost, once the battery cost reduces automatically the cost of electric vehicles will reduce. This battery will allow having the second and third lives in the electric power grid.

Tesla chief executive Elon Musk has been teasing to reveal significant advances in battery technology during a “Battery Day” in late May.
The new “million mile” battery at the centre of Tesla’s strategy was jointly developed with China’s Contemporary Amperex Technology Ltd (CATL) and deploys technology developed by Tesla in collaboration with a team of academic battery experts recruited by Musk.
The new and low-cost batteries are designed to last for a million miles of use and enable electric Teslas to sell profitably for the same price or less than a petrol vehicle is what Musk is expecting.
Elon Musk has reached out to battery experts clustered at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Recently, Tesla posted an update on its YouTube Channel in which its engineers are working on designing ventilators from Tesla Model 3 parts to help to fight against the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Not only Tesla, Mahindra company also decided to make ventilators which play an important role during these unprecedented times. The teams of Mahindra from Igatpuri and Mumbai plants decided to make the ventilators to fight against the pandemic. They have prepared the first ventilator prototype within 48 hours.
