Volvo introduced the XC40 Recharge electric car at Rs 56.9 lakh (excluding showrooms)

Volvo India has unveiled the C40 Recharge EV for the Indian market. The automaker is now offering the XC40 Recharge electric car to the market at its introductory price of Rs 56.9 lakh (excluding showrooms). After much anticipation, the automaker has unveiled its second fuel-efficient vehicle for India. This should increase market share in the luxury battery-powered four-wheeler segment. Equipment-wise, the C40 Recharge is equipped with a 13-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, an all-digital instrument cluster, a wireless charger, a 9-inch vertically stacked touchscreen infotainment unit, cruise control, ADAS technology, and more. Design-wise, the newly launched electric car shares similarities with its sister model.

XC40 Recharge, Volvo’s upcoming electric car has finally been unveiled to the market, so let’s look at its features, specs, and design.

Battery and range of the Volvo C40 Recharge EV

The C40 Recharge EV has the same 78kWh battery as the XC40 Recharge. However, due to its more aerodynamic design, the WLTP stipulated range on a single charge is slightly higher at 530 kilometers. It also has a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system that produces 402 horsepower and 660 Nm. From a standstill, it accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 180 km/h. A 150 kW fast charger can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in 27 minutes.

Dimensions and safety features of the Volvo C40 Recharge EV

Dimensionally, the updated EV is 4,440mm long, 1,910mm wide, and 1,591mm high. There are 19-inch aero wheels on it. When it comes to safety, the all-new C40 Recharge is equipped with ABS with EBD, 360° parking view, blind spot information system ‘BLIS’, lane departure warning, emergency braking, hill start assist, and more.

Exterior & Interior of the Volvo C40 Recharge EV

Design-wise, Volvo India’s EV is almost identical to its sibling, the XC40 Recharge. However, the most notable difference can be seen in the coupé’s downward-sloping roofline. The C40 Recharge features vertically positioned LED taillights, Volvo’s trademark Thor’s Hammer LED daytime running lights, and an enclosed panel instead of the stock grille.

The Volvo C40 Recharge EV features recycled carpet and vegan, leather-free upholstery. It also has Google’s 9-inch touchscreen infotainment. Other notable interior features of this electric vehicle include a 12-inch all-digital driver display, dual-zone climate control, a 13-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and an air purifier.

Price & Market Availability of the Volvo C40 Recharge EV

Pricing for the electric car has yet to be announced. However, the automaker said it plans to announce these in August and deliver them to customers in September. There is also the option to reserve an electric car when the price is disclosed. Following in the footsteps of the company, customers interested in booking hybrid vehicles can now book online through an app. In addition, our dealer network supports deliveries.
