Finland Kempower looking partners for EV charging eco-system in India

Today many company’s are taking initiative to build the charging infrastructure in the country as to be part of an EV ecosystem in India.

A Finland based Kempower Oy is one of those companies who are into building EV charging infrastructure. It has expertise in charging of electric passenger vehicles, buses and off-highway vehicles and has three products-T-series movable DC, C-series EV charging station and S-series charging system.

The company has 70 years of experience in power sources and is expertise in the EV field. It designs, manufactures and commercialises charging solutions and services for electric vehicles and machines operating. Its charging solutions are designed and manufactured in Lahti, Finland.




Kempower is confident that it will bring its charging solutions in India but due to pandemic, the plans have been slowed down. Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra, managing director (South East Asia & India), Kemppi Oy, said “We are focusing on charging electric off-highway vehicles, buses, passenger cars and heavy vehicles. We are at the starting phase in India and are looking at a lot of prospects to understand the need and requirements of the market here. We are in discussions with many stakeholders and OEMs here.”

The company is having four centres in India-Chennai, Pune, Delhi and Kolkata which includes the sales, demo and services. Kempower has 60 strong dealer network in India which supplies 3 different charging solutions. The C series is cabinet charger offers power from 40 kW to 480 kW and T series is a small charger which can be used to charge electric cars, commercial vehicles, lorries, vans, buses and off-highway vehicles which offers 40 kW of pure charging power and has dual charging option providing 20 kW from each channel. The third one is S-series, a fast-charging system for large and widespread fleets.
