Electric vehicles (EV) industry is growing rapidly everywhere. The government is taking many initiatives towards promoting e-mobility. In order to push e-mobility, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has planned to extend the services of bicycle sharing and e-scooters at 5 of its stations.

The DMRC is planning to open cycle stands either fully automated or dockless cycle sharing system. The customers will need to create a QR code to unlock the bicycles at metro stations.
This services will be available at 5 of its stations. The DMRC already runs the bicycle sharing services at 19 stations.
The municipal corporation will give the space and facility to charge the e-scooters whereas the private operators will manage the services.
The e-scooters service will be at Vishwavidyalaya Metro station, which is already into cycle-sharing service. This station is mainly used by the young commuters. These stations include Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus and Mandi House.
Charges of using the e-scooters are Re 1 per km
The charges of using the e-scooters are Re 1 per km similar to as cheap as the bicycle fare is.
If this move brings success then definitely it will help to reduce the dependence and pollution made by the automobiles, the Delhi Metro official hopes for it.
The challenges of charging an EV is made easy, as EV users are getting enough charging stations or points to charge their EVs as of now.
Recently, Panasonic has announced the installation of 1 lakh EVs charging stations across 25 cities in India to fulfill the charging facilities. These charging stations will power over 10 lakh vehicles by 2024.
You can find these charging facilities at malls, parking areas, petrol pumps, special zones. The charging stations will be built for some of the cities including Hyderabad, Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, and Amravati.
some of these cities have the mail train services which will be used to boost to Delhi Metro’s e-scooter project.
