16 States EV policies in India to must-read on this Independence day
The State governments of India are taking many initiatives to promote and adopt electric vehicles in India. Also to cut down the import of oils and most importantly to reduce the pollution levels in the country. Today in this article we will be discussing all the 16 States electric vehicles (EV) policies in India. The 16 States includes Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Delhi, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal and Goa (draft).
Under the FAME India (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India) the Union Cabinet had approved Rs 10,000 crore for the promotion of electric and hybrid vehicles and to incentivize the manufacture of electric vehicles and to the buyers of electric vehicles.
‘Recently, the FAME II scheme modified and extended till 2024, electric two-wheeler market size. The shares of electric vehicles sold under the FAME-II Scheme as of May 2021 is 21% for electric three-wheelers, 2% for electric four-wheelers, 77% for electric two-wheelers.
The high-speed electric vehicles witnessed a growth of 47%, with 41,048 units being sold in FY2021 as opposed to 27,787 units sold in FY2020. The share of HS E2Ws in the overall E2W sales went up from 20% in FY2020 to 28% in FY2021.
Whereas the Low speed (LS) E2Ws witnessed a decline of17.9% s FY2020. But however they are most affordable, there is no need for RTO registration, etc make them attractive to the buyers even today.
