Lithium partners with Wipro offering employee transportation services

One of the leading and largest electric vehicles fleet operators, Lithium Urban Technologies. It has announced a partnership with Wipro to provide employee transportation service to the tech giants offices in India.

The fleet operating company have till now covered 40 lakh km of distance with Hyderabad’s Wipro campus. The company yearly saves 800 metric ton (MT) of CO2 emission. It will also soon make expansions to other Wipro across India in a phased manner within 12-18 months. Both companies flagged off the new EV fleet at DLF Cybercity, Gurugram this week.




The Co-founder and CEO, Lithium Urban Technologies said that “This journey which started in Hyderabad is now being expanded nationally. We aim to deliver results in terms of both, cost savings and carbon footprint reduction. It is indeed our privilege to partner with Wipro in serving the nation.”

40-50% used in Wipro campuses is from renewables. It aims to transform 35% of fleet to electric in the next 18 months. It also aims to reach 100m green km.

The startup has EV fleet and its own charging infrastructure which includes the telematics, fleet management systems, scheduling, rostering and analytics-based optimisation and trained and certified drivers.

Wipro Ltd & IISC joined hands 

Recently, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and IT major Wipro Ltd have joined their hands to make a driverless, autonomous car for Indian road conditions which is said to be rollout in March 2020.

Wipro will invest Rs.9.6 crore

Wipro will invest Rs.9.6 crore in collaborative research in cutting edge technology in fields like artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, and human-machine interaction, autonomous systems, and robotics.
