Citroen partners with Blusmart, to provide 4000 eC3 electric cars as cabs for a year

French automaker Citroen has announced a partnership with electric vehicle fleet aggregator Blusmart to offer 4,000 of its new eC3 electric cars as taxis for a period of one year. This collaboration aims to bolster both companies’ positions in India’s rapidly growing electric vehicle market.

The eC3, unveiled earlier this year, is Citroen’s first electric offering in India. The compact electric car boasts a range of around 320 kilometers on a single charge, making it suitable for urban commuting. Blusmart, on the other hand, is one of India’s leading electric vehicle fleet aggregators, offering ride-hailing services in several major cities.

This partnership is expected to benefit both companies. Citroen will gain valuable insights into the real-world performance of its eC3 in a ride-hailing environment, while Blusmart will be able to expand its fleet with a reliable and efficient electric vehicle. For consumers, this collaboration will mean increased access to electric cabs, potentially leading to a more eco-friendly and sustainable transportation experience.

The specific details of the partnership, such as the cities where the eC3 cabs will be available and the pricing structure, are yet to be revealed by either company. However, the collaboration is certainly a positive development for the Indian electric vehicle market, indicating a growing interest from both automakers and ride-hailing companies in offering electric mobility solutions.
