Electric vehicles are known for their unique features such as zero-emission and quiet, the electric car assembled in the company’s Sriperumbudur unit.

The Kona had a national launch earlier this year at Global Investors Meet in Chennai. After the flag-off, the State’s Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam and other Ministers were present and took a ride in the SUV around the Fort St. George campus.

Along with them the Industries Minister M.C. Sampath, Information Minister Kadambur C. Raju, Chief Secretary K. Shanmugam, and senior officials were present.

Hyundai’s electric car

Kona gives a range of 452 km per charge and can reach 100 kmph within 9.7 seconds. The SUV cost will start at ₹25 lakh in Chennai.

It received 120 confirmed bookings within 15 days of its launch. the company will make an investment in the equipment and installation of fast chargers that can be charged up to 80% within less than an hour.

It will work with the Indian Oil Corporation Limited to develop infrastructure for providing fast charging facility at select fuel stations in Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
